The Warming House in Olean, NY is one of the oldest student-run soup kitchens in the nation. It started as drop-in center for lonely adults in 1974, and in the early '80s began offering one meal a day to the hungry, homeless and disadvantaged. Today, it is a vital community ministry that serves more than 12,000 meals annually. In cooperation with St. Bonaventure, the Warming House is open six days per week year-round and has a support team of more than 300 student volunteers and some 100 community members. Its mission is to provide nourishment, fellowship and dignity to its guests.

A non-profit, community organization run by a 100% volunteer staff wholly dedicated to feeding those in need: body, mind and soul. This organization helps those experiencing food insecurity and provides nutritious food and produce to those who need it most. |

Connecting Communities in Action’s Nutrition Division is committed to empowering the community to make choices through advocacy, education, and outreach. We connect families to resources in order to promote food security and encourage the value of nutrition. Conduit of food from the Western New York Food Bank and other sources to over 20 locally operated pantries serving persons and families with emergency needs throughout Cattaraugus County. CCA’s Salamanca pantry location is the largest in the service area.
