Mission
Canticle Farm, a ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, is devoted to honoring the sacredness of all Creation. As a community farm, we work to build a resilient local food system, cultivating connections among people and the Earth by practicing regenerative agriculture, ecological justice, and a Creation-centered spirituality rooted in reverence, compassion, and care.
Canticle Farm, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was founded in 2001 in Allegany, NY, by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany as a ministry to the local community to provide fresh, healthy, locally grown food using sustainable farming methods without the use of synthetic or chemical applications.
Canticle Farm donates produce to a wide variety of organizations engaged in alleviating food insecurity throughout Cattaraugus and Allegany counties in NY, and McKean County in PA, through our Franciscan Food Pantry Program, which is supported by grants and donations from religious groups and societies, local organizations, individuals and friends of the farm.

Vision
The vision of the farm is to be a model for the local, sustainable community farm relying on the recognition of God’s gifts to nourish the mind, body, spirit and Earth.
Everyone is welcome at Canticle Farm, a true community farm that began as a dream of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany and became a reality in partnership with many like-minded community members. Our 15-acre farm is a nonprofit that supports Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) growing methods and the Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) growing model. We believe everyone should have access to nutritious produce at affordable prices.
